But before that, it is important to know about its grade and steel used for manufacturing these plates. S355 J2 N is the common high strength steel that is mainly used for construction work. It is a non-alloy structural steel with EN 10025 specification. There are various products manufactured using this steel and steel plates are one of the popular product used in several industries and applications. These plates are widely used in applications like automotive manufacturing, wall elements, white goods and roofing applications.

Being an unalloyed carbon mild steel it is supplied to customers in hot rolled condition. S355J2 N plates are welder friendly, high tensile strength and low carbon structural steel that is readily available to customers in weldable form. It has excellent cold forming properties and plates are often produced using killed steel process and exported to customers in controlled rolling or normalized condition. Here the symbol S is used for structural steel and JR symbol is used for temperature impact test. Furthermore, the raw material used for manufacturing these plates is well inspected and tested by inspection agencies and quality experts.

Well, if we talk about plate's specification and standard, these plates are manufactured in accordance with both national and international standard and specification including ASTM, ASME, and API standard. These plates are specialized with shim sheet, BQ profile and perforated sheets. The size of these plates varies from 0.5mm to 200mm; thickness varies from 1000mm to 2500mm whereas its width varies from 2500mm to 12500mm. Moreover, these plates are even available to customers as per their needs and demand.

These plates are hot rolled and met plastic coated finishing and hardness is half hard, soft, quarter hard and spring hard. These plates are available in two different grades that are EN 10025 S355J2 N and DIN 17100 ST52-3N. These plates are used in various applications like shipbuilding, power plant, oil and gas platforms, Offshore structures, transmission towers and palm oil equipment. These plates are considered bets and widely used in different industries and applications due to its excellent features like excellent strength, hardness, good resistance to corrosion, pitting, cracking and durability. These EN 10025 S355J2 N plates are well tested and inspected with flattening test, hardness test, impact test, raw material test, ultrasonic test and third-party inspection. S355J2+N Grade Specifies - "+N" means normalized when rolling, while J2 means doing Charpy V-notch impacting test. These plates are individually packed and wrapped in plastic wrappers that are waterproof and then kept in wooden cases or pallets to prevent these plates from damage and rusting until its last stage of production. Furthermore, complete labelling is done outside the packaging that describes products size, length, thickness, specification, and price.
